AIoD History

The Armenian Institute of Directors (AIoD) emerged from Armenia’s broader corporate-governance reforms to professionalize directorship and strengthen boards across the economy. With advisory support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and in close cooperation with the Corporate Governance Center, the Institute was set up in late 2014 and formally launched in 2015.

From the outset, AIoD focused on improving board effectiveness, committee performance, and the practical skills of directors—creating a home for Armenia’s governance community to learn, share experience, and align with international good practices.
