Ani Makaryan is a leading executive in corporate governance, financial regulation and supervision, and capital markets, with more than 20 years of professional and leadership experience in both the public and private sectors.
Since October 2024, she has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Depository of Armenia (AMX Group). Ms. Makaryan also serves as Chair of the Audit Committee of the Federation of Euro-Asian Capital Markets (FEAS) and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pension Guarantee Fund of Armenia.
Prior to her appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Central Depository of Armenia, Ms. Makaryan served as a member of the Management Board of the Armenia Stock Exchange (AMX Group).
Before joining the AMX Group, Ms. Makaryan headed the Legal Support Division of the Financial Supervision at the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia for nearly 12 years. The division was responsible for the legal oversight of compliance by financial institutions with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, as well as for supervisory enforcement proceedings and administrative processes.
Ms. Makaryan also served as Chief Legal Counsel of the Servicemen Insurance Fund.
Since 2009, she has been a licensed attorney and a member of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia.
Alongside her executive career, Ms. Makaryan has been engaged in academic teaching for more than 15 years. For approximately 12 years, she has taught the course Secured Transactions Law at the French University in Armenia.
Ms. Makaryan is also actively involved in institutional and legislative reform initiatives in the Republic of Armenia, working closely with international organizations, public authorities, and other key stakeholders.
