Held on the sidelines of the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17), this joint event hosted by the UN SSE Initiative and the Armenian Institute of Directors explores the critical role of the board in overseeing sustainability-related disclosures.

As global standards evolve, the session will bring together standard setters, board directors, and leading experts to discuss how boards can build the necessary capabilities to oversee sustainability information. With a particular focus on nature-related data, the event will highlight practical ways boards can integrate these insights into effective strategic decision-making.

  • Armenuhy Hovakimyan, Director, Armenian Institute of Directors (AIoD)

• 11:10 – 11:45 | Keynote: Strategic Oversight & Resilience

  • Susanne Stormer Chair of Global Sustainability Standards Board (Global Reporting Initiative - GRI) on how boards can actively oversee and utilize nature and sustainability-related information to enhance corporate resilience and strategic oversight.

• 11:45 – 12:30 | Panel Discussion: Navigating Challenges & Building Capabilities

  • A panel featuring experienced board directors and the UN SSE Initiative. The discussion will identify the main challenges boards face with sustainability data and explore how directors are overcoming them. The UN SSE will also share insights from its ongoing training program on Board Oversight of ISSB-Aligned Disclosures.
