New 2026 Research on Armenian Board Compositions Released by Boyden Armenia
The Armenian Institute of Directors (AIoD) is pleased to share the latest research conducted by the Boyden Armenia team, offering a comprehensive look into the boardrooms of the Armenian financial sector in 2026.
As corporate governance continues to evolve in Armenia, understanding the demographics of our decision-makers is more critical than ever. This annual study provides a vital snapshot of current boardroom trends, analyzing data from 74 organizations and 322 board members across banks, credit organizations, insurance companies, fund managers, the Armenia Stock Exchange, and the Central Bank of Armenia.
Key highlights from the study include:
Nationality: 73.6% of board members are Armenian, while 26.4% are non-Armenian, with international representation varying significantly by sector.
Age Profile: The average age of a board member is 55, with the largest demographic falling into the 50-59 age group.
Gender Diversity: Women currently make up 15.2% of board members. While 8 boards feature at least 50% female representation, a notable 41 out of 74 boards still operate with no female members at all, and only 2.8% of board chairs are women.
This research serves as an essential resource for executives, founders, and governance professionals aiming to benchmark their own boards against industry standards and identify areas for structural improvement and diversity.
